Coronavirus vs. Gig Economy - Many Left Jobless

By Appjobs

A survey of 1400 gig workers across the world found that many have had to quit their jobs due to a decrease in demand and safety concerns brought on by the Coronavirus pandemic.

While the pandemic has affected all workers globally, gig workers are some of the most affected due to the already precarious nature of their work.

Close to 70 percent of gig workers said they now have no income while 89 percent are looking for new work according to the survey by Appjobs, an online platform for job seekers.

The workers also say they are not satisfied with the support that their companies are providing. They also say they expect some assistance from either government or the companies they work for.
