Ghana: Soronko Academy and MasterCard Foundation launch digital skills assessment tools

By My Joy Online

Soronko Academy, a software development and social enterprise and the Mastercard Foundation have launched an online skills assessment and job matching platform. This is part of Mastercard’s Young Africa Works program that seeks to find solutions to youth unemployment in Africa.

The My Digital Skills tool evaluates digital skills such as basic digital skills, digital marketing, coding, blogging, graphic design, video creation, animation, robotics, 3D printing and design as well as soft skills such as leadership, innovation, creativity, work attitude and aptitude, entrepreneurship, etiquette, and work ethics.

After, the tool scores the users’ digital level, ranks them as either trainable or employable, and makes recommendations for training programs or jobs available within their skillset.
