Tech union leaders are dodging surveillance on platforms like Facebook and Zoom

By OneZero

Tech union leaders' attempts to organize and demand better working conditions are made harder by surveillance by platforms they work for, reports OneZero a Medium publication about tech and science.

The companies, for example, are able to closely monitor Facebook groups where workers voice their concerns.

Emboldened by a surge of labor activity across the technology industry, gig workers are now establishing their own platforms, often online, to organize activism. But even in these worker-created spaces, organizers worry about surveillance.
