Google funding digital skills initiatives worldwide

By The Business Standard and HRM Asia

Google has launched 'Grow with Google Small Business hub' in India, a one-stop destination where small businesses can obtain digital skills, access digital tools, and resources to help them maintain business continuity during the pandemic.

Under the initiative, Google is also launching new features on its business apps to make the businesses more discoverable by customers via Google Search and Maps. The new features will also enable digital payments.

Google is planning to double down on its other program -Digital Unlocked- which has provided digital skills to over 1 million businesses and individuals in India in the past.

In the ASEAN region, Google will provide micro, medium and small enterprises as well as under-employed youth with digital skills training and tools to help them minimize the negative impact of the COVID-19 crisis.

The Go Digital ASEAN project launched in collaboration with the Asia Foundation will offer training on digital marketing, business development, and online safety to 200,000 beneficiaries in villages and secondary cities through local partners.
