Giraffe, a South African based online job portal is offering free courses to job seekers using the platform to find work, reports Ventureburn. The training initiative is a partnership between Giraffe, UNICEF Innovation Fund and Generation Unlimited.
The free courses target job seekers who do not have a tertiary education and lack career guidance and insight into employment.
The courses cover how to find a job, choosing a career path, how to ace an interview, and even how to manage one's money, among others, and are available on mobile devices at zero data cost on both MTN and Vodacom networks.
“ Giraffe is part of our investment cohort focusing on solutions that bridge learning gaps to improve employability – a challenge that has been further highlighted with the current and impending learning and economic crisis. This learning portal is free to access, and open source – contributing to a collection of digital public goods that can transform lives and advance humanity” - Sunita Grote, UNICEF Innovation Fund Manager.
